On June 2, 2015, DSSGC became a National Down Syndrome Society affiliate! We joined over 375 Down syndrome-related affiliate organizations, each providing an array of benefits and services to families in their communities.  NDSS views its affiliates as equal partners working on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome, their families and professionals who are involved with their overall welfare.

The mission of the National Down Syndrome Society is to be the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.  The NDSS envisions a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations, and become values members of welcoming communities. As an affiliate, DSSGC will help NDSS achieve their mission.

DSSGC work with the NDSS to operate around four main lines of business: public awareness, public policy, the Buddy Walk, and community support. In these areas, we partner with NDSS in promoting the value, acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome.
